El Jaleo de Jeréz: Sketches of Spain

21/6/2013

Always looking to expand my cultural connections and delve into the relationships of travellers with this country, I was sent a link this week to a post by Cherry Jeffs related to the Spanish sketches by John Singer Sargent at the end of the 19th century.

His sketches of Spanish dancers are wonderful, and translate dynamically into the kinetic energy of his oils.

Take a look at the post here... and check out the beautifully minimalist site of Cherry Jeffs. whilst there.
